Billing and credits

Use Billing to review your plan, credit balance, payment history, and subscription status.

Check your plan and balance

Open your account menu and select Billing.
Review Current plan for your plan name, status, and next billing date.
Review Usage for your Current credit balance.

The sidebar also shows your balance. Basic accounts see Credits left; paid accounts see Monthly credits left. The chat input shows a compact version when credit data is available.

The available plans are Free, Pro, Premium, and Quant. The pricing page shows the current plan limits and feature access. Credit limits are currently:

Free: 100 credits, granted once and not renewed.
Pro: 3,000 credits per month.
Premium: 8,000 credits per month.
Quant: 20,000 credits per month.

Paid-plan credits are applied after a successful subscription invoice. Your balance can be lower than the plan limit after you use credits.

Choose or change a plan

Open Billing and select View plans, or open /pricing directly.
On Choose your plan, review the plan cards.
Select Start free, Choose Pro, Choose Premium, or Choose Quant, as available.

Selecting Pro or Premium from the Free plan opens Stripe Checkout. Quant is invite-only and opens the Lona contact page.

If you already have a paid plan, selecting another plan sends you to Billing. Use Manage plan to continue in the Stripe billing portal. If checkout is cancelled, the pricing page shows that no charges were made.

Manage billing and cancellation

On Billing, select Manage plan to open the Stripe billing portal. Use the portal to manage your payment method, subscription changes, or cancellation.

When a cancellation is scheduled, Billing shows Cancelling and a Cancels on: date. Your plan remains available until that date. Select Reactivate before then to keep the subscription; after a successful reactivation, Lona shows Subscription reactivated and the next renewal date.

Payment problems appear as Payment failed. Update your payment method in the billing portal to avoid losing access.

View invoices

The Payment history section lists invoices and payment receipts. Each entry can show Paid, Open, or Failed. A linked status opens the hosted invoice in a new tab.

Where credits are used

Credits apply to chargeable AI and trading operations:

Generate a strategy with AI: 2 credits.
Modify a strategy: 1 credit.
Run a backtest: 2 credits.
Run an optimization: 0.2 credits per iteration.

Before an optimization starts, review its Runs and Cost in the approval card. Lona reserves the estimated amount, charges completed iterations, and refunds unused reserved credits when you cancel. Basic users can enable Use a free optimization when an entitlement remains; the Free plan includes two lifetime free optimizations with a maximum of 400 iterations each.

If your balance cannot cover an operation, Lona asks you to wait for credits or upgrade before it runs.
